This corpus is COPYRIGHT 1993 International Telecommunications Union, - used with permission. Corpus provided to the ECI by the International Telecommunications Union, CH 1211 Geneva, Swirzerland via ISSCO, 54 route des Acacias, CH 1227 Geneva. The English files were named E-.TXT These texts have not been made ECI Conformant. They contain markup codes of the form ## and often start with a header. Ampersand characters have been replaced by "&" ; Left angle brackets by "&lab;" . The French files were named F-.TXT These texts have not been made ECI Conformant. They contain markup codes of the form ## and often start with a header. Ampersand characters have been replaced by "&" ; Left angle brackets by "&lab;" . The Spanish files were named ...S.eci These texts have been SGML marked up by the ECI project, but some aspects of the formatting may not have been handled properly. Markup used in texts -------------------- (1) italic font (?) #IT# ... #IQ# #ITAL# ... #IQUE# #ITAL# ... #ITAL# ... #IQUE# Note: The last case seems to mean that the whole section between first #ITAL# and #IQUE# is to be made italic. (2) Bold font (?) #GR# ... #AS# #GR# ... #GR# ... #AS# Sometimes unmatched #AS# appear, seemingly at the start of a paragraph. (3) Titles #TITRE# A title, often appears to last till the end of the line, but not always (4) The hash character The sequence "##" means a single hash "#" character. Except where it occurs when two #-control sequences occur next to one another eg "#IQ##IT#".
