yes early next week more letters to be sent home on fees for workbooks <,> um fees for workbooks sent home a <&>letter a workbooks to be paid <{1><[1>then second one <{2><[2>calculators <{3><[3>right? <[1>mm <[2>calculators <[3>and probably new zealand cert <{><[>maths <[>yep <{><[>um <[>and n z cert maths <,> AGAIN yeah we've just sent those <{><[>ones haven't we <[>yes what we do with the ones that are not gonna pay that? i mean <{><[>word student word leave in about a month <[>i'll ring them well <{><[>if he's <[>well well i'll tell you what charge him for what paper he's used bugger it <{><[>excuse my language <[>oh i thought i'd be making <{><[>word <[>laughs <{><[>laughs <[>oh caught her on file laughs now this <{><[>is <[>that was <{><[><.>m missus <&>10:00 <[>but but see how natural <{><[>that was how spontaneous that was <[>laughs <{><[>that's no justification use a bit of restraint woman <[>now the last one sorry now the last one listen to this one l q to design a letter of acknowledgement for class work and maths oh yeah i know i haven't even i knew you were gonna say that i've still got it it's in the pipeline it's in the computer it's in <.>the no it's not even on the computer it's in here <&>presumably points to head laughs it's on the floppiest of all floppy discs <.>y is he being rude to me okay just well let's see how quickly we can get through this meeting maths competition racing this time australian and the national bank if you can just keep pushing the kids the australian one <,> if we get more than the third formers more third formers pay up than we've actually sent away for i'll just send another um cheque for the rest of the money i mean at the moment we've got more paid than what we've entered for we're entered for eight <{1><[1>and we've got ten but we can easily <{2><[2>get around that <[1>that's fine <[2>gosh and i've still haven't had word yeah now cantermaths margaret oh yes if you can just keep pushing that with your classes though that the maths competition if you want to go in it pay your money up um you know how we have third and fourth form <,> <&>11:00 quizzes um in the bay of plenty and we send teams away mhm what we thought is <.>w <.>i if we could get our junior classes sort of in into that mode of of of mathematics for the next couple of weeks just it's it's a real buzz i've had tried it with my kids okay? and you know the system you get sets of papers and as the kids finish one they bring the answer up and if they get it right they get five marks and the next sheet and it goes like that they do get a buzz <.>ye yeah yeah they get a real buzz out of it and what i've i've only done it once with my class and i just haven't had time stuffing round a lot anyway i'd like to do that say two three times with my kids and from there we'll i will select a team of say two teams of four from my class a three um and if each of us sort of do that with our third and fourth form and we have an actual school competition and from there the kids who actually go to represent the school sort of it feels like they earn their place and other kids <{><[>have a right to <[>yeah yeah <&>12:00 and it can be done in you know but what the cantermaths is because it's already set out this is what i use with my kids it's already set out you see it starts with really simple you know that ninety six eight times twelve right and you go you set these up you get six teams yeah not very word <{><[>yeah and and <.>i you know it's really easy but <[>yeah and have you got all these yeah but what i want to do is i want to get <,> this is a simple one i only started with the easy one <,> okay? and see how easy they are i actually started my kids without calculators <{><[>and that's the mark sheet? <[>without them? and this is the answer withOUT <{><[>calculators you were saying? <[>and their totals without calculators? i started this simple one without calculators and the simple one is which one? <{1><[1>the whole thing <{2><[2>they're all a set <[1>the first one <[2>oh they're all the same yeah they're all the same okay but THEN because it took me ages to set UP and tell them what i wanted um <,> we lost time so after the first <,> THREE i said right calculators now and they brought <&>pronounced bought them out <{1><[1>and it didn't make any <{2><[2>difference actually it didn't make any difference <[1>right <&>13:00 <[2>word but the but the numbers in them aren't that <{><[>difficult <[>now yeah are these have you got different ones for fourth over to third <{><[>or something <[>well well this is actually er <.>e sent from canterbury for form one laughs oh okay yeah and i've got the form two lot as well which we could use for our fourth form oh yeah laughs true <{1><[1>word <{2><[2>word <[1>word be smart word <[2>so we just for our classes <{><[>though you could <[>so we just ask you for these or are we going to have to <{><[>photocopy the whole set <[>no well what i i want to do is photograph sets and give them to you <{><[>i want to actually set one up with with roger and go through it with him <[>yeah that's right yeah please in his class yeah with his class oh right <{><[>so if i do it with one of his classes he can do it with the other three <[>yeah so yeah and perhaps help show david yeah yeah <{><[>that would be much appreciated yeah <[>and if we do that yeah well you know if we think about that in the next <,> so i know there's a heck of a lot to do in the next two weeks but the kids <{><[>really enjoy it have a good time yeah right <[>no but it might be a nice thing to do leading up to easter cos i mean look we're gonna all finish units off aren't we <{1><[1>in in the third and fourth form <{2><[2>over this week <[1>yeah <[2>i'm finished i'm testing on thursday and friday me too yeah so <&>14:00 i'm starting laughs okay so if you're <{1><[1>going to <{2><[2>word <[1>you're a slacker <[2>i'll set that up and i'll come round and i'll say lucy you know how to do <{1><[1>this so you won't need it and then i'll <{2><[2>help roger <[1>teach us how it works <[2>okay i might need a scoring thing cos i forget the scoring <&>14:09
