that look on your face it's not that bad <,> okay so she's <.>eat been eating well? yeah she's <{><[>got a hell of an appetite <[>yeah she's not that fat though no she's not cos we sort of limit what we don't sort of <{><[>feed her dog roll every single day we give her bones and stuff <[>good do you worm her at all yeah i do that usually every three months <{><[>four months <[>good okay that's fine <&>next utterance addressed to dog can i have a look at your teeth lassie her teeth are word i wanted you to look at <{><[>too there's one that's gone a bit brown it's got a chip <[>mm <&>7:00 oh yeah yeah yeah we can't do much about that at all <{1><[1>now that's <.>da that's damaged the whole cavity i mean we could spend a thousand dollars and put a cap on it but i don't really think we need to do that i mean see how they look green with that <{2><[2>tartar we will need to clean these up at some stage in the future but probably a good year or two away gums are a bit red as if she's scuffed them a bit does she get all the bones <[1>right <[2>yeah she um i only give her brisket bones but she's always picking up things she shouldn't be picking <{><[>up and chewing on them <[>yeah she's a real keen on having a gnaw on <{><[>whatever's around <[>yeah she is great yeah she looks like she's just scuffs her gums a bit but that's all right let's just have a look no flea problems i see you got a collar no you need what <.>i my advice to you is she's at that sort of border line make where these ones are a bit too thin right they're a bit too small this one's word kept them off anyway yeah see that that size is just one just <.>li just like a normal dog size the one you always want to go for it's the same price is the one called the large dog collar all right? and even though you think it would be for a huge dog it's for any dog see above twenty kilograms <{1><[1>the one that you've got is only for up to twenty kilograms she's about well at least <{2><[2>twenty five <[1>right <&>8:00 <[2>she's twenty nine twenty nine? yeah okay yeah <{><[>word <[>so that's the one i'd recommend you take next time okay right but that's just that just is a little bit too small and won't quite work you know down to the bottom there how much are they nine ninety five <{><[>word <[>i might swap that want me to put one on for you? yeah cos this one's old anyway <{><[>word <[>i'll just go and get you one may as well do it now <,,><&>3 so with her <.>g is is there anything i could do about her gums er not really i just voc they're they're really it's just <.>the <.>the rigidity then you <.>can you can get gum um dental stuff which we've got out there to rub on them i can show you something out there which you do to help keep them clean but not i wouldn't really be worried too much about it see the difference? how white it is oh yeah and that gives you <{><[>um much more word and this is also these good ones have got coat conditioners in these double layers <[>yeah oh <{><[>yes <[>and that actually means that you prevent <&>pronounced as prevents a lot of dermatitis in summer they're really good but they stink a bit bizarre mm <,,> word laughs but fleas aren't normally a great problem for her <&>9:00 no no moulting is laughs she moults all year round they say in certain seasons that's a joke yeah you know why she moults all year <{><[>round? it's probably because she's inside most of the time is she? then she goes out for a little walk and then she goes back inside so you have it nice inside your house and then she goes out into the cold and body gets fooled really eh thinking it's different seasons <[>no oh see what happens <{1><[1>in winter for example normally in the wild they'd be exposed to just <.>the here i'll take that rubbish they'd just be exposed to um you know winter but your temperature inside your house will be twenty five degrees with the heaters going and <{2><[2>insulation and so the body thinks hey summer <{3><[3>and then it goes outside hey winter so every day the body's fooled and it just <.>j <.>l loses all its hair <[1>yeah <[2>yeah <[3>yeah and that's what's happened to her and that's why domestication means that dogs moult just about all year round oh great <.>sh she lived outside never came inside she'd be <{1><[1>word word wouldn't moult let me try something word <{2><[2>i'll get you to bring her round here so i can just have a look down her back check for fleas <&>next utterance addressed to dog no no no no <{3><[3>just relax <[1>she'd be fine <[2>laughs <[3><&>next utterance addressed to dog relax <&>10:00 <&>next utterance addressed to dog poor lassie <,,> skin looks good <,,> <{><[>how how old is she now <[>she's word she's six and she gets round fine? she has no limps or <{1><[1>lameness at all? i mean she's you know a good nice healthy age you know so <{2><[2>she shouldn't really have any problems now yeah <[1>no <[2>yeah what i want to ask you if <{><[>word dog poop <[>mm mm er interest interest it's basically just doesn't mean to say they're lacking in anything but it just usually means that they're um just curious behaviour it's just investigative behaviours is it her own or other dogs it's her own or um horse oh horse is really smelly and interesting <{><[>dogs will eat horse manure if they eat their own it could be she's a little bit on this on the light side i mean um for her size i mean it could be that she's maybe not absorbing some nutrients properly what sort of food are you giving her <[>oh she has dog roll like champ or lucky <{><[>or something like that and then she either has <&>11:00 bones on the second day or um <,> dog biscuits and she gets vegies when we've got left overs of anything <[>mm yeah pasta vegies sounds fine rice and that yeah no there's no i mean i wouldn't say if you keep her purposely within limits and you could easily see her <.>get gain <{><[>weight i suppose <[>yeah she's got that before and she looks <{><[>really <[>yeah okay so that's fine um no i i mean a lot of it is just just real juvenile <.>in investigative behaviour lot of them just do it because they're um er you know just sort of a bit bored if they're left on their own <{><[>for a bit that little word sit around they'll sometimes do it you can put try and put pepper on and all sorts of things but i tend to find most things don't really work very well <[>yeah word no does it happen every <&>pronounced allvery day no it's just now and again she'll do it and you think ugh yeah i wouldn't worry too <.>m i wouldn't be kissing her though <{><[>laughs <[>no but i wouldn't be <{1><[1>worried too much it's quite a common thing in puppies they really get stuck into it you know <{2><[2>but adult dogs like her it's just i'd say if anything it could be that if she's left on her own a bit it's a bit of boredom <[1>laughs <[2>oh yeah all right <{><[>okay <[>i might feed her a bit more on the days that i sort of feed her more if you want to just she uses a <&>12:00 lot of energy <{><[>too she's sort of all really energetic <[>mm well that is what i suggest you do is maybe feed her more bulk like more vegies more bread you know but particularly bulk bran weetbix things like that yes i do that sort of thing you know just to fill her up a bit more and <{><[>she won't put on weight that way it's the dog sausage which will really gain her weight and dog biscuits <[>yeah right <{><[>so if i give her lots of vegies <[>if you do loads of fibre pasta rice yeah vegies all fine oh good and that just might stop her doing that you <{><[>know she might also be just craving a little bit more <,,><&>3 <&>next utterance addressed to dog right lassie you a good girl <[>mm <&>next utterance addressed to dog come here darling <&>next utterance addressed to dog that's a girl <&>next utterance addressed to dog come here darling <,,><&>4 all done <&>next utterance addressed to dog bad all gone <&>next utterance addressed to dog and <{><[>since you've been a good girl we can give you a chocolate <[>oh oh chocolate she'll eat anything good girl word thank you <{><[><&>next utterance addressed to dog pick it up <[>word <,> she got the pip with us or something has she she always throws it on the ground <&>13:00 oh it's too it's just too interesting here and she's just not sure what's up next so we'll put it away <{><[>word anything <[>laughs word laughs all right well that's fine you'll still happy about the rate aren't you yeah okay and you've still got a vaccine certificate for her what i done with it i think i have lost it do you think <{><[>or <[>no think i lost it i'll get a new one just in case you put her to kennels or anything like that okay well don't forget your bag oh you don't take her at all to taupo do you you don't take her all over the country?
