these on saturday and sunday it's gonna be nowhere near as bad as it was on no it won't be going up those damn stairs it's gonna be quite fun one of us will get to stand and just dribble the water into it yep laughs and the other one can oh yeah i know shovel stuff and the other one just stands there and dribbles water while it goes round and we should take turns at everything <{><[>eh <[>oh yeah it'll be great didn't he say that the um his father's got a cement word <,> so he's gotta do all the concreting um yeah we'll do the labouring he'll do the skill work yeah so we just kind of <{><[><,> chuck it all backwards and forwards <[>yeah cos he's got to blow bubbles through the concrete and everything to get rid of all the air <,,><&>3 he's gotta blow bubbles through the concrete <{><[>to get rid of the air <[>yeah but he'll use a bubble machine <,> not his mouth yeah laughs <{><[>gets a <.>straw gets a straw and puts it into the concrete and then blows <&>2:00 <[>laughs otherwise word word bubble machine yeah it's just this big air machine and you put through it i don't know if he'll use that or if whether or what he'll use to be word but um <{><[>and we better wear this big bubble machine that <.>w it's like a vacuum cleaner but it <.>w is in reverse and it just blew bubbles right through this thing and it just shot all the air trapped all the air up in the bubbles and shot them to the surface <[>does <.>he oh really yeah <,> and so the concrete's tighter yeah got no air holes in it so it's harder to crack oh right so it's a better foundation right mm you know it's gonna be um seventy five mil <,,> the um deck i think oh right <{><[>yeah <[>over that entire <{1><[1>surface it's quite <{2><[2>word it's quite big <[1>yep <[2>seventy five's yeah <,> it's almost ten centimetres seven and a half centimetres so that's bill's bit of concrete <{><[>it's quite thick <[>yeah it's quite thick yeah <,,> mm <,,><&>3 <&>3:00 and i was just such a mess <{><[>the other day <[>be better work though <,,><&>4 i mean sure you won't probably get as much of a break but you won't need it eh laughs the way that we needed a break sprinting up and down those steps <{><[>certainly didn't help <[>in the rain in the rain yeah voc that car was just the end of it eh yeah oh man that was gunny oh man no i mean <,> get to the bottom and then seeing word father <,> trying to <{><[>um <[>it's lucky he fixed that thing for us eh mm tut <.>he showed me what to do mm and i'm gonna fix the car up eh <,> i've decided it's just a waste of <.>time yeah <{><[>no you <[>flogging it off word no you gotta keep it no with that mini manual i'll just <.>get i'll just go out to one of those places and get spare parts <,> and spend <{><[>word <[>can you read it like do you know what you're doing yeah oh <.>tha that's quite <{1><[1>it's amazing how that book was put eh it was all <{2><[2>innuendo it was incredible eh <[1>laughs word <[2>yeah it was it was it was it was SO bizarre <,> <{><[>nah anyway <[>yeah it was too much to be um accidental I reckon yeah <&>4:00 some kind of dirty old mechanic wrote it yeah yeah <,> nah i'm gonna um <,,> get it fixed up when i get some spare time word cos then then the warrant's gonna be big <,> spender <,> and i've got registration and insurance it's about <,> tut three hundred dollars at least i'll just have to wait until <,> get some decent money <{><[>yeah <[>I mean it's crazy just scrapping it for a couple of hundred when voc you can make it go well <,,> it's costing you a lot to keep it going <,,> mm inhales but if i fix it up myself it's a lot of the cost gone cos i don't actually use it that much i don't use that much petrol yeah i <{><[>use a <.>lot i use a lot less in the summer eh <[>it's just your overheads that are really expensive eh what was that it's just your overheads that are expensive like everything the warrant and stuff mm well the warrant is costing an average of two hundred dollars each time <{><[>so i might as well get some more word <[>mm yeah <,> tut your tyres are okay eh mhm <&>5:00 and the clutch is quite good it is now laughter that was <{1><[1>we've had all these we've had all these experiences in that car <{2><[2>it's had certain problems <,> it started off at onslow and it had the water you could spray people on the <[1>that was yeah <[2>all those terrible problems so much of it just gone remember how we could spray people yeah on the footpath along burma road with the oh yeah window <{><[>wiper <[>with the window washer that's right <{1><[1>i'd forgotten about that wicked that was a <{2><[2>BRILLiant thing <[1>yeah <[2>then then there was lots of times we were out of petrol you had to push it along burma road yeah do you remember when we went through khandallah and said there's an old lady and we said aim and we were going to fire but none of us had the guts to fire at the old ladies oh right <,,> going through khandallah village mm it's really just old lady city it's um it's dangerous you <.>can't you drive down there and <.>th the old ladies they pull out <,> straight out of these angle parks right <{><[>so there's all these word they <.>can't see or they just walk out and they can't they don't look eh <[>yeah or they just walk out nah nah they just bowl out <{><[>it's like a computer game <[>word it's nice i like it computer game oh nah <,,> but nah <.>i i think it's nice how um <&>6:00 voc put on good jeans you'll be right laughs very funny very funny yeah that was amazingly bad eh mm mm <,> nah when we were <.>push sorry i'm still <{><[>thinking about pushing the car <[>yeah yeah when we pushed the car along burma road and we <,> <{><[>saw the japanese <.>teach <[>oh the japanese teacher yeah and she came over and she wondered why <,> the engine wasn't going that's right and we had to roll down to the bottom yep tut and um <,,> <{><[>but <.>she she enjoyed it it was a new zealand experience eh <[>she thought we were doing a word oh hell yeah she thought it was quite funny mm mm she said japanese boys wouldn't've word hey <{><[>the teacher at onslow's gone eh miss drummond who's your brother have nah he's doing correspondence <[>word correspondence at the moment and um missus sawiko's coming back it is missus sawiko mm right cos <,> tut i was <,> when i went to the neighbours' to use the phone last night <{><[>their son's doing japanese <[>yeah yep and the mother wasn't sure who was coming but i said missus sawiko the name didn't ring a bell intimacy signal mm mm <&>7:00 <,,><&>3 but um <,,> <.>na natsuki and <{><[>hayakawa are getting married <[>mm who are they missus sawiko's kids oh really mm natsuki <{><[>word <[>to each other no no no no laughs but i think they're trying to um get married before her mother comes back laughs so that before her mother comes to new zealand so that you know she doesn't have to come out <{><[>and go back <[>mm how old are they natsuki's my age and harekawa's two years older <,,><&>5 exhales freaky eh mm you met natsuki eh that's right she's one of the first students to stay with us yeah <,,><&>3 a long time ago a long time <,,> that's weird mm <,,><&>8 anyway natsuki right <&>8:00 yeah when she was over here she um <,,> oh she stayed with us and went <,> round new zealand and shit yeah i think she went skiing as well <{><[>word <[>oh excellent <.>really i really want to go skiing <.>this this year eh yeah i just can't go <.>w why not i can't afford it at the moment <,> it's a real bummer oh it's bloody expensive eh yeah it is <{><[>it costs quite a lot to get there anyway <[>i mean laughs <.>h how much are tows and shit oh about thirty <,> something about thirty odd a day <{><[>it's quite a lot eh for tows or twenty eight a day or something and gear word <[>tut yeah and then you gotta hire gear and all that sort <.>of unless you get your own and i <,> am not into it enough to have my own yeah so where tut how many times have you been skiing um <,> tut i went first in sixth form and then i went in seventh form and then i went last year but this year i haven't been able to go i've been <.>a i've been <{1><[1><.>try i try and go about once a year eh <{2><[2><,> so far <[1>just the last three years <[2>just the last three years yeah <,> last three <{><[>years in a row <[>if we get the car fixed up we should get into it i reckon we should just go <.>cos i took a <.>y week off last year last year i didn't care and i just went yeah that's right <{><[>word <&>9:00 <[>and that was just SO good <{><[>i think that was one of the best weeks i've ever had eh <[>word yeah yeah cos it was with brent and yeah <,> i know his mum and just EVery night we were just really tired and we just skied and we just came down early just relaxed it was great sogged out yeah smoke and dinner yeah wicked mm <,> oh it was great <{><[><.>and <.>and oh jen made dinner <[>word mm and we did all the dishes and stuff <,,> it's a bit stereotyped but it was um just really good cos she's a great cook and she's vegetarian so she wanted to be careful that it was all done right her way mm mm so that was up at <{><[>ruapehu <[>word um yeah we went up to whakapapa for but we stayed in um this weird village <{><[>fairly near <[>this weird village <{><[>laughs it was <.>somali a somalian outback <[>laughs it was strange yeah it just about was it was a strange place mm um <,,> where would you call it it had a name did it <,,><&>3 was it just a little skiing village down the mountain <&>10:00 no it was about fifty minutes away from the mountain <{><[>anyway yeah <[>oh really down on the plain i'll look it up later yeah <.>y <,> oh it was really good um cos jen had a company car yeah and so you just hooned on up we just went up with that and then um accommodation was just leave a donation mm and so that was groovy that was really cheap <,> and um food we just had <{><[>food <[>exhales just leave a donation? and we had a student discount for skiing oh yeah yeah just leave a donation cos jen knew the people yeah knew someone in there <.>who who <.>qu er not in queenstown you <.>ski you skied in queenstown? no i want to go though yeah <{><[>it is unbelievable eh <[>is it good is it better it is wicked SOUTH island skiing's better i reckon i've heard bert went to the remarkables eh yeah cos sue's grandparents lived right at the foot mhm so when we went down there to stay we went every morning word twenty minutes drive up it yeah to the field went one day when cadrona just opened and everyone was piled over to that it was the most CLEAR day right <{><[>and there was no one in the remarkables at all <[>word yeah the entire thing was word it was <&>11:00 unbelievably excellent <,> you just <.>come do runs and get straight on and go back up you know none of this waiting word <,> so i mean it was probably like bert <.>we we use to go down south eh mm i mean then you wouldn't work oh i wouldn't pay for going on the ferry eh laughs we could get one of the um old life rafts off the word yeah word would do that sort of thing richard hewson wants to take a cycling trip round nelson thought it would be cheaper <{1><[1>to buy one of the old <,> trashed um <{2><[2>word <[1>laughs <[2>if meredith gets her licence we should get her to buy a car and then we'll go off skiing laughs
