the time i DO everything it won't <,,> no it'll go very quickly <,,><&>6 yeah <&>11:00 <,,><&>3 mm have you ever lived in wellington mm tut ten weeks oh right that was voc quite a long length of time wasn't it i worked in the <,> ministry of works word oh you worked oh <.>y before you were married oh yes word yes no we've never lived there since we have been married <,> um <,,> i actually flatted <,> only a few streets away from where sharon is cos at ONE stage i did actually wonder if i flatted in the same street and wouldn't have been voc at all surprised if i had been the same flat you know how mm things mm and but it's not we were in trevor street which is <,,> so i had to write to someone else and ask <{><[>because i'd forgotten <[>it is a little short street is it is it a? is that the little short street it's a no exit one yes yeah <,,> mm it doesn't immediately spring to mind where's sharon lawrence street <,,><&>3 oh they're all little short streets aren't they <&>12:00 <,,> newtown's got quite a few of those mm they back onto the <,> well sort of they're near a park aren't they sort of mind you word is it the green belt <,> is <{><[>it up there <[>it might be mm i'm not sure about that now <,> sharon went and visited the flat i had to write to somebody <,> to get the <,> address because you know to find out if SHE remembered where we flatted <,> cos i couldn't remember mm cos i was there such a short time <,> and um <,> then i wrote to sharon and told her and one day voc <,> so she biked over there <,> and i hadn't given her the we weren't sure of the number i think the other girl wasn't sure of the number <,> and so <,> sharon drew little squares as to what the houses sort of looked like we've isolated it to two but i'm not really <,> certain mm <&>13:00 <,,><&>16 i WAS to have been there about six months but <,> they asked me to go back to auckland to relieve teaching mm <,,> word sort of started in the <,> y w c a i feel feel as though i probably knew that clears throat at the time was i around then mm you would've been <,,><&>5 you would've been in taupo when did you get married what year sixty eight <,,><&>5 it was the year after you <.>were oh yes it was the year after you were born but <{><[>only a month after you were born <[>mm <{><[>mm <[>oh that's right you were born in december and we got married in <{><[>january <[>we've got <{><[>photos of a wizened up little <[>right little wee <,> dangly legs mm wee body <{><[>with dangly legs <[>oh <,,><&>4 i could go and chip some more coal out on the bathroom but clears throat <&>14:00 because you had lee and kelly and judith had <.>s petra and stacey and they were the same <,,><&>3 ages <,,><&>4 yes i can't remember a heck of a lot about that exactly <,> except kelly slept on my shoulder the whole time and it was so HOT i seem to <{><[>remember <[>it was very warm wasn't it <{><[>it was humid if i remember i think it RAINED <,> later in the afternoon or something it was a very humid sort of day <[>tut it was hot yeah was that in new plymouth no <{><[>palmerston north <[>oh palmie cos kelly seemed to be very um <,,> sensitive to the heat she always ended up with a heat rash and <{1><[1>and voc <,> mm <,> yes it wasn't yes she was kind of stuck to one shoulder i seem <{2><[2>to remember and <,> i think you ended up sleeping there <.>i we didn't try to put you down anywhere you just sort of slept on my shoulder <&>15:00 <,,><&>8 <[1>i still do <[2>oh well where did you you must've been living in taupo then yes mm mm <,,><&>3 yeah it was quite a busy time <{><[>and we <[>and where did you stay <,> did you go to a motel we were in a motel yes <,> i remember clears throat trying to feed the baby at two oclock in the morning and being really <.>s <,> sort of aware that everyone else was probably waking cos the baby'd woken and <,,><&>4 these are very nice kelly <,> have they got apple <,> and walnuts yes they're actually your chocolate chip recipe but clears throat without the chocolate chips oh right mm it's quite a successful combination really mm it's very nice <,,><&>5 we've got quite a few apples at the moment laughs that was a jolly good buy wasn't it five k for three dollars i think she could've actually brought out the <{><[>um <[>we broke the bag in the boot after you left laughs again <&>16:00 <,,><&>6 okay i'll start to rattle in the coal now mm <,,> we've had some quite good fires since then mm i can't remember the last time <{><[>that i've burnt coal you know it probably when we were in reefton huh <[>oh here we go well what do you have at home just wood i've got a wood burner clears throat tut <{><[>and <[>a closed in one yeah you can't actually burn coal in them can you you <.>c you can get a special grate you know a um a piece that you fit <{><[>in there <[>what sort of wood burner have you got it's called um <,,> ferra ferra i don't know it seems to be it's not a common one but <{><[>it <[>it's a black one oh thank <{><[>you kelly they had a few black ones in our day but none of them have been called ferras <[>laughs mm it's a it sort of fits in the existing fireplace <{><[>i suspect that it could've been you know there were millions of fireplaces that used to <[>oh right mm not draw <,> very <{1><[1>well and things <{2><[2>like that <,> so i suspect it was one of those but it works reasonably well <[1>oh yes <[2>yes mm you got to have dry wood and what do you buy in wood <&>17:00 um clears throat <,> tut last lot i got was macrocarpa and we got <.>s you can get bags of <,> more fiercer burning stuff more fiercely burning stuff inhales and <,,> i forgot this is all going on tape isn't it gasps um tut yes so <,> you can get bags there of quite big bags you know sort of <,> up to about there i think they have um <,> tut i don't know what they <,> put in them fertiliser or something <{><[><,> and and you get get sort of mixed wood in that it's i think it's demolition stuff you get all sorts in there for fourteen dollars so inhales you really need to have some of that when you're burning macrocarpa <[>oh right i see what you mean mm mm but it works works quite well <,> and it's got a thing you can plug in so that when it's really hot you can actually <,> fan <,> <{><[>the hot air out to the <[>the fan goes right round the back doesn't it and up those like it comes in the bottom mm what you plug it into the electricity <&>18:00 mm <,> <{><[>mm through <[>just to suck air through oh tut you don't have to do that but it sort <{><[>of heats the whole room if you do that mm <[>like a word so were your family worried about you when you got home the other night no they weren't no bit uncaring mm but i had rung him from the supermarket oh that's right so they got prepared to know word mm <{><[>word run over <[>because i said to paul it was paul and i said i'll be there in a minute and he said <,> <.>w where were you ringing from <,> and i said oh the supermarket and of course he said he said but you said you'd be there in a minute <,> the little jim's been ringing from round the corner <{><[>laughs <[>laughs takes things quite literally doesn't he well he likes he'd hope to push the point he takes you quite literally i keep forgetting they're twins they don't look a bit alike do they no sometimes yes sometimes when you look at them they've got <,,> <.>s similar features and well that's a family thing not <{><[>not necessarily a <.>tr a twin thing <[>yeah <{><[>yeah <&>19:00 <[>cos if they're not identical twins <{1><[1>it's it's just like any brother or sisters isn't <{2><[2>it <[1>well it no you can't have a boy and a girl <[2>yes you can't have a boy and a <{><[>girl identical <[>no but it isn't <{1><[1>it good cos i mean a lot of <{2><[2>twins <[1>word <[2>they're different yes <,> all sorts of awful things happen don't they with twins did you know verity's had her hair cut now <,> like donna oh she hasn't tut oh dear this friend of karen's are they identical twins yeah and they're <.>i they both had really long blonde hair and the only way you could tell them apart was like if you didn't know them very well was inhales early last year clears throat um donna got her hair all cut off really really short and now verity's done it too mm and they get really upset if you get them muddled up actually it's very hard i don't cos i know them so well but ellen said the first time she saw verity with her hair cut she thought it was donna and she knows her really really well claps <&>next utterance addressed to cat mcivor get out of there <&>next utterance addressed to cat what a bad cat he's trying very hard to not be seen <,,> <{><[>word deceitful <[>i've got those um photos of uncle jack's <&>20:00 <{1><[1>oh yes i
