er you'd be all right if you've got a coat on if you're going out then probably once you're inSIDE you'll be right yeah well i can't wear my fur coat any longer cause it's why split in a couple of places and there's nobody now to mend it has that chap <{><[>in waitara gone <[>that chap at urenui's gone in urenui mm oh which is a bit of a pity because yeah he was quite handy he <{1><[1>used to manage to keep it mobile for <{2><[2>me <[1>yeah <[2>where's it split oh <.>down in the back and on one sleeve one <{><[>sort of in the elbow <[>oh what a shame because i thought i was going to um get mine done too yeah oh now that lady <,,> um <,> <&>15:00 <.>s oh no <.>she that's right she's just a dressmaker i was going to say there's a lady in town but no she's a dressmaker in who there's a lady in town is a tailor <.>but where <.>i um up above where the other tailor used to be oh i <{><[>don't know <[>up above the cash up there yes up further but no <.>she's i don't <.>think she probably wouldn't be er wouldn't know what to do with <{><[>fur sorry <[>and did i tell you that i went to er went into ward's yesterday downstairs you know in their bridal stuff no i was looking at their materials <,> and they've got much the same as they've got upstairs at centre city yeah and i'd looked at a grey grain <{><[>at centre city and um any way i went downstairs and the man that was there i said to him have you got any <[>oh yes that'd be nice oh grey grain oh yeah and he said er yes but not many colours but he did have the same green as they've got upstairs but i <.>s and <.>he i said um i was really looking for <&>16:00 something for a wedding i said something special and i had in mind a frock and a jacket and i said i had thought of a grey grain um i said have you got any other suggestion and he said er well um there's thai silk here and i had a look at that and he said or along the stairs there there's um er pure <.>s or raw silk <{><[>you know but he said um <,> you pay the silk price if you want that was about fourteen dollars i think and this other was about twenty eight or something <[>voc voc and er i said well um if i bought that material do you make them here I thought they had a dressmaker upstairs you know like ballentynes do in christchurch <&>17:00 <.>i i didn't know <{><[>there were dressmakers i thought they had a person who did alterations <[>and places like that and well they do have alterations but er <.>i i thought they made things too oh and um he said no but we could get it made for you and there was another lady there who obviously works there and she named somebody and the man said oh no i think i'd get missus flint and i said oh well um i go to missus flint cause they probably want a cut from <.>doing <{><[>get missus flint to do it <[>oh yes they'd want a commission yes suppose so and um tut er so i said oh well i'll just think about it but the last time i went to janine flint i thought well i could have made it yeah just as well <{><[><.>as <[>well i was just thinking if <.>you if <.>you if it's something simple you probably could make it just as <{><[>nicely yourSELF <[>well i probably could if i took my <{><[>time <[><.>s yes <.>if if you start now but you wouldn't want it THAI silk would you <{><[>what time is the wedding <[><.>no oh it's oh four er three oclock <&>18:00 hm if it was a cold day you'd be stumped <,,> <{><[>seeing your <.>fur's <[>well they keep telling me it'll be warmer in auckland oh <.>THEY they've had a COOL summer i remember <&>pronounced as member them complaining about it well the <{1><[1><.>la we went into a little boutique <{2><[2>lady that elizabeth knows and i said to her what would i wear to a wedding in september in auckland i said i live in new plymouth and that doesn't help me much when i'm trying to think of auckland and she said er oh well you could have a silk suit she said that's about the time of year that the silk suits come out <[1>the last TWO years <[2>clears throat yeah which sort of silk did she mean though well <{><[>don't know <[>because there's <.>this this um as you call it the raw silk but that's like a linen a heavy linen that they're wearing these days i wonder if she meant one of those OH no <.>that <{><[>you know they've got a stand of it in centre city have you seen that <[>she meant a thin one yeah pure SILK and it doesn't even look like silk <{><[>i thought it was a cottony tweed <[>yeah yeah <{><[>they've got lots of it <.>in in er wards too <[>REALLY have they <&>19:00 i'd love a jacket of it but it's yeah there are so many <.>different i don't know what colour to choose so many different colours yes i looked at that too yeah oh WELL you'll have to <{><[>put your thinking cap on <[>in FACT i looked at it when i was buying this crepe but i looked <.>a they didn't have a notice up that it was pure silk they had a <.>n they just had it er just a rack of it and you poked round to find the price <{1><[1>you see and i thought oh gosh thirty dollars for what looked like a woollen cotton tweed <{2><[2>didn't even look <[1>yeah <[2>yeah doesn't look good does it NO no but er <{><[>i <.>suppose must be all right <[>must be i suppose for that price anyway i asked one of the ladies about it and she said oh well three of the staff have made jackets out of it and they're very pleased with it mm and i said well being pure silk <.>i um it might CREASE cos pure things do i mean <{1><[1>linen creases <.>and <&>20:00 and er pure cotton <{2><[2>creases all those things <{3><[3>crease and pure silk creases <[1>yeah oh linen's dreadful <[2>it's disappointing <[3>mm mm <{><[>and you can't wash it <[>voc no and i was thinking <{><[>you know gosh if you paid that <.>and and had it crease well <[>first mistake i made with my blouse yeah you're not <{><[>much further ahead are you <[>you word no that's right NO your gross grain would be nice cause that's <.>a <.>got that's a nice weight yes it's a bit <{><[>heavier <[>word it's got a bit of <{><[>body to it <[>body in it yeah and if it was cool <{><[>you can fix long sleeves to it <[>and <.>elizabeth's i had to ask elizabeth if she'd look for a black clutch purse tut oh yeah and when she brings it back <.>on then look at shoes she should find something quite nice over <{><[>word <[>well that's what i thought there'd be a bit <.>more bit more er choice even <.>if yeah if they're not much different they'll be on their way they'll be WELL on <{><[>their way <.>three <.>two three hours <[>well on their way by now as long as <{><[>they went on time <[>two hours now yeah cos it's <.>quite yeah busy place on a saturday up there yes <&>21:00 yes jane had a beautiful little black evening bag oh it was a gorgeous thing it was um black silk and it had beautiful little embroidered spray on it <.>w gold clasp at the <.>top a gold top on it with a clasp and oh it was very nice and she lost it last monday night <{1><[1>she went into the toilet and she had <.>a we all got <.>a a calendar um given to us um with books that are going to be published by these firms that put the road show on for the next um nine months and um tut so she had this in her hand went into the toilets put it on the bench went into the cubicle and somebody else came in while she was there <.>i no somebody went OUT while she was there that's right she didn't realise anybody was there or she would have taken it in with her so she thought oh gosh i hope it's safe so when she went out the first thing she did was to <.>see look if it was there yes it was there <&>22:00 so she washes her hands goes over to the dryer comes back and picks up <.>the the calendar and forgets all about her <{2><[2>purse <[1>oh where <[2>OH <&>22:06
