better go but sarah <&>1:00 said no way no this is you know a <{><[>special <.>o <[>special occasion it was <{><[>quite nice <[>how wonderful yes how are they yeah they're fine <{><[>yeah they're very <.>w he was at squash <[>they're good? oh yes yes <{><[>he likes his squash <[>and er she'd only just come <,> in from er mhm work work yes yes <{1><[1>mhm oh that's lovely isn't <{2><[2>it <[1>and er <[2>yes yes yes but um did she ask how it went on sunday she wanted to know everything oh yes and i'm sure <{><[>grandma filled her in <[>and cooked and what we cooked <{><[>and what we had <[>mhm mm yes we has special things there go on you say <{1><[1>what we cooked <{2><[2>and i'll say the sweets <.>and <[1><.>what <[2>all right okay <.>i well we had chicken and rice <,> which <.>is a special way with that we cook it and er we had er mayonnaise <{1><[1><,,> which is very nice with vegetables isn't it it's a very unusual dish it's traditionally french but um <{2><[2><.>r <[1>voc laughs <&>2:00 <[2>romanians do it quite a <{><[>bit don't they <[><.>th romanians do it greeks do it <{1><[1>probably if you ask the turks it's <{2><[2>going to be laughs turkish <{3><[3>like everything you know anyway what else did we have <{4><[4>oh <[1>mm <[2>probably <[3>yeah <[4>what do we call that dish um salad de <{1><[1>beef beef it's <{2><[2>really because it's meant to have er <[1>boeuf <[2>beef beef meat in it <{><[>and <[>mhm mm and um <{><[>word <[>but what did we have in it it didn't <{><[>have beef it had chicken i thought it had chicken yes mhm <[>it had chicken laughs and er we'd done our cheese pie with the filo <{><[>pastry <[>mm that you burnt that i burnt yes and cory had it and she <{1><[1>says thank you very <{2><[2>much mm <[1>mm <[2>well there's <.>some i'm glad the dog appreciated it <{1><[1>laughs i left it in the oven for two hours <{2><[2>and <.>aft that was a bit over <{3><[3>keen <[1>laughs yes laughs <[2>mm <&>3:00 <[3>laughs you wanted it well cooked <{><[>that's what it was yes mm <[>i forgot i forgot all about it and the <.>other oh that's it i meant to bring you i had made meringues for <{><[><.>this <[>and you forgot them too <{><[>did you never mind keep them for the eighty first birthday laughs yes <[>i forgot to bring them out never mind laughs and er oh we had roast potato oh yes and er what else did <{><[>we <[>cabbage <{><[>rolls <[>cabbage rolls how could i forget yes yes everybody enjoyed those and er yes and we had fried <,> mushrooms <{><[>done in breadcrumbs <.>and <[>they were very unusual the crumbs mm yes and er what <.>have what else did we have that's about it yes <{><[>er <[>oh no peppers salads <{><[>ratatouille and er that's <.>a <[>oh yes that's right and a little wee um beetroot and beetroot mm baby beetroot yes that was very <{><[>nice <[>and out of er i mean food dishes that's about all isn't it <&>4:00 mm i think that's all we had <{><[>for the dishes yeah <[>we didn't have anything else and for sweets we had a lovely birthday cake that <{><[>we must have put INCHES on with all that cream <[>that <.>apple <,> that <,> that apple cake was lovely heather that's <{><[>not er the one you made it's different to the way sasha does it sasha used to have it on the top this was <[>which apple cake <,> oh i see yes mm well mine slip right down the bottom <{><[>don't they mm <[>lovely it was really unusual right through <{1><[1>you know and the <.>ki the kids liked it <{2><[2>cos <,> it wasn't so dry it makes it moist <[1>well <[2>mm yes well in between the banana cake and the apple cake we got it down to a fine art <{1><[1>here and i THINK kari likes my apple cake too besides the banana she loves that <{2><[2>mm <[1>yes laughs <[2>does she mm her favourite does sheryl like banana cake yes she hasn't got any favourites <{><[>i don't think <[>oh <.>has is she not a sweet um tooth <{><[>laughs <[>oh i think she's a very careful eater <{><[>mm <&>5:00 <[>aHA no wonder she's got such a <{><[>nice figure well mm <[>yes yes kari's still growing you know so she can <{><[>eat more <[>oh but it's her age <{><[>you see i think she's er you know once they go past that <[>yes yes mm mm mm yes her teacher's um teacher what's her name um patricia <{1><[1>went see mum <{2><[2>yesterday <[1>mm <[2>oh did word yeah <{1><[1>yeah wished her happy <{2><[2>birthday and she er she always makes the cards <{3><[3>she's <,> very artistic <{4><[4>it's a shame she's so <[1>mm <[2>mm <[3>does she really <[4>oh i see mhm mm you know but she's very very artistic and <{><[>er <[>is she married has got a family oh no oh what a pity <{><[>hard for a mm <[>the the brother's married got three daughters mm goodness me mhm <{><[>mm <[>but <.>she no <{><[>never married no <[>mm mm and um she made mum one of those um she always makes her <{><[>stuff that you know she made a cover that goes over your tissue box <[>mm tut oh yes <{><[>mhm mm <[>yeah and it's like a butterfly <&>6:00 really <{><[>oh yes <[>yeah mum said it's really <{1><[1>UNUSUAL yeah but she's er voc every year she'll <,> do something <{2><[2>one year it was um pin holder and <{3><[3>she'd embroidered and and she does all that all <{4><[4>tapestry and er another year i can't remember what it was like all these <[1>how wonderful yes yes mm <[2>mm <[3>mm <[4>mm mhm things you know <{1><[1>tea towels with all the edgings <{2><[2>and um oh <{3><[3>and <[1>mm <[2>mhm <[3>oh lovely mm mm so anyway so <{><[>that was um that was our big occasion <[>mm yes it was a big <{><[>occasion yes <[>did you work today heather today no i did not go to <{1><[1>work today laughs today i went into town and met liz <{2><[2>and we had lunch at the new farmers in lambton quay <{3><[3>word <[1>what did you do <[2>oh <[3>is it still the same have they done that up the <{><[>coffee bar <.>and <[><.>that's oh well it's new owners all around they've changed a wee bit they've put their little touches here and there <{1><[1>you know but it's still downstairs the coffee <{2><[2>bar mm mm people still come from all the way round i didn't know kirks had two coffee bars did you <[1>is it nice <[2>it's still the same mm <&>7:00 no oh well as <.>you when you go in <{1><[1>there's one there and one upstairs i didn't know that till we wandered around today and we just <{2><[2>bought our lunch at no no <{3><[3>mm sniffs we were both of us we <{4><[4>just word <[1>i know one downstairs oh i didn't know <[2>did you buy anything <[3>you were very good not <.>s <[4>not spending your husband's money no no we just looked around and um that's that <{><[>yeah <[>how is she is she still working NO she's given up at christmas <{><[>and she's going in for a spinal op <,> next week <[>oh did she liz? mm mm she's had this back ache oh i didn't <{><[>realise <[>and um yes she didn't know what it was since february <{><[>and <[>so what is it what just a spine er <{><[>something <[>yes she's going into bowen and they're gong to fix her they <{><[>hope mm <[>well marilyn's going to be there yes that's what i was telling <{1><[1>her on sunday i DID <{2><[2>and she says don't come in too quick i said no i won't <{3><[3>i just thought i'd let her know that this one's coming but <{4><[4>i never got <[1>you should tell her <[2>oh right <[3>oh right <[4>yeah she should <&>pronounced and sould say she'll go and <{1><[1>see her and that <{2><[2>but i'll tell you <.>s talking about spines i just um <,> called in to see this lady i'm looking in the one i go on friday <{3><[3>well the daughter's gone to <.>n norfolk island <[1>mm <[2>yeah <&>8:00 <[3>mm oh yes mhm and she says to me will you come in and just look in on her <{><[>and there is another daughter here but she works fulltime <[>mm mm mm probably she'll ring her every day <{><[>but she can't call in you know <[>mm laughs yes laughs <.>and laughs <{><[>laughs <[>and um anyway this is where <{><[>i went <[>laughs laughs mitchell's looking <{><[>laughs staring <[>and er her daughter had three accidents oh hell <{><[>word <[>and one was just <.>in put her <{><[>spine out and er she's had TERRIBLE um what is it that thing where they have to wear a collar as well is it lash whiplash <[>yes whiplash <{><[>yes yes mhm mm <[>yeah and this time she was just <,> going to turn the corner and the car oh gosh <{><[>mm <[><.>a and she er and it's <.>puts her back out <&>9:00 yeah her <{1><[1>back out and she's <.>had and there was nothing they can do <{2><[2>about it and every so often she goes to chiropractor and she does this <{3><[3>that and the other and it just seems to you know <[1>mm mm mm mm <[2>mm mm <[3>mm mm and er THREE TIMES she's had <{><[>er <[>gosh poor thing it <{><[>must be painful <[>yeah yeah <{><[>and er <[>well liz's thought it was the pinching of the nerve <{><[>because that's how it stopped and in the end they said no it's not <[>yes that's right will they take a mm er a <{1><[1>piece off her <.>s spine you know <{2><[2>those things out <[1>they took <.>a <[2>i'm not sure what <.>the the discs <{1><[1>i'm not sure really what they're going to do but um on the fourth they're going to operate <{2><[2>so um mm <[1>DISC <[2>oh gosh and er oh well she should be all right after that <{><[>eh <[>yes laughs i said to her today we were looking at books and i said make sure you have a few books with yourself because you'll be face down she said do you think so i said well if they're going to operate on your back they're not going to put you back on <{1><[1>your back <.>f for a few <&>10:00 days yes it's going to be around here a three inch <{2><[2><,> um operation and it <{3><[3>yeah <[1>is that right <[2>oh goodness <[3>oh it's quite a big operation then <{><[>eh <[>mm she's quite in pain you know she's taking pills and that yes <&>next utterance addressed to collector hey su how are <{><[>we doing laughs mm <[>oh i don't know so <.>any oh gosh <{><[>i didn't realise <[>yes so she said that er she's going to take a few books she loves her reading and she <{><[>really enjoys reading since she's been staying i know she's <.>s you know she had a court case and she won <[>yes no <{><[>what for who did she <.>ti <[>oh yes because the way they DISMISSED her <{><[><.>s yes yes mm <[>oh is that right was it in the paper well i don't know but she <.>w he paid her all court <,> um <{><[>costs <[>charges yes plus a bit extra but she's not allowed to <.>di disclose the figure but she was rapt that because <{><[>what he did to her <[>she won mm oh is this her boss <.>she <{1><[1>and so she worked there for years <{2><[2>is that the <.>same <[1>yes <[2>oh yes a good few years <{1><[1>mm yes so um and she got a reference too in case if she wants to get a <{2><[2>job somewhere because he <&>11:00 dismissed her <{3><[3>unfairly no she won't no <[1>yeah oh goodness me did she <[2>go and yes would she go <[3>surely she's not going to do it are the children at home still or <{><[>word <[>no gerald is down at university <{1><[1>and er victoria <.>she er well she's got a boyfriend <{2><[2>um <[1>voc <[2>oh so she's off she's sort of off <{><[>mm mm tut yes so um <[>oh yeah oh so that's that they've done their growing up they've <.>done but they've done all right really those children <{><[>mm you know <[>oh yes and they're still doing very <{1><[1>well she's got one more year at training college and she'll <{2><[2>be a qualified <[1>yeah very lucky <[2>i mean er it couldn't have been easy for them you <{1><[1>know but <.>th they were very lucky to <.>s <{2><[2>some people <.>say <[1>mm <[2>they're still lucky you know <{1><[1>they home for <{2><[2>holidays and that yes mm <[1>yes <[2>yes yes they're <.>s very close mm cos you see um <,> <{><[>when <.>m i know <[>when you think of it they're adopted too yeah because look at the trouble these you know this one i go to you know it's all mm sorts of trouble with both the boy even when he was <,> <&>12:00 um i <{1><[1>think she says was a child of twelve she couldn't they couldn't handle him <{2><[2>and he went to live with the GRANDMOTHER for two years <[1>mm <[2>really mm mm must be a strain on the grandmother too eh mm well she's died now laughs <{><[>laughs it probably killed her no no but apparently he was such a PROBLEM child <[>oh god laughs she's word mm mm but you think SURELY you know oh i don't know nowadays it's very difficult to think and what you do <{><[>you know it's um you hear a lot of people that have problem is it the children is it the parents is it um <[>yeah i think sometimes it's the PARENTS you know <{><[>even when they're er <,> the soccer team word they're in you know <&>12:42 <[>mm
