and she thinks that she could do better laughs oh yeah so fair enough good on her <{><[>cool <[>mm yeah <,,> mm tut have you heard from toyota <&>7:00 no i haven't but um you know chris nathan he um he had an interview as well and he got rung up and asked to come back for another interview and i haven't so tut <{><[>yeah but i'm actually not that worried if i don't get it that's fine i won't be upset at all because i only want to work for like six months anyway and then um go overseas or something so it doesn't really matter <[>mm so is it a possibility that you'll go overseas anyway and just borrow money to go <{><[><.>or <[>um oh like if worst comes to worst i'll just um work at katies over the summer like i did last summer and earn a couple of thousand and pay off my debt and i don't know get some stink job for like six months next year before i leave or whatever and i'll probably save up enough money to go mm yeah <.>is do you actually have to pay off your student loan before you can <{><[>go <[>um no you don't <&>8:00 have to but i'd really like to just to have <{><[>no debt behind me save up a bit of money <[>mm mm tut <,> true yeah it's <.>qu it's quite hard um inhales for craig and i deciding what's going to happen next year mm cos he's been offered a job in opotiki has he doing what as an <{><[>accountant <[>accountant great but i mean it's the hickest town yeah <{><[>yeah <[>i'd just die laughs <{1><[1>so would you go and live there with him <{2><[2>like in opotiki <[1>and he er <[2>no i told him i wouldn't <.>that that's the same as um darren he's probably going to work in waiuku all laugh but I don't want to live in waiuku the nearest town is <.>like oh god <.>t even to auckland it's an hour and a half and that's the closest city opotiki's a NICE place but the people are <.>really it's <.>qu make it really awful it's just a REAL small town people who are there are really small minded yeah yeah REALLY narrow focused <.>really some of them are just unscrupulous yeah and those are the people who er have ambition laughs <{1><[1>the rest of them are just going nowhere and just in <&>9:00 utter <{2><[2>content <[1>mm <[2>yeah i don't want <{><[>that <[>with where they are in life <{1><[1>and don't want to move and <.>i'd <.>he i mean it's really really attractive to him because he's been looking for jobs the same <.>as you know through the employer visitation and he's <{2><[2>just kept being knocked back knocked back <[1>yeah <[2>yeah but still if he works <.>there well how <.>many many more years have you got just one i've got actually about two from now yeah well say if he works there for two or even three um then he'll have his a c a right and then he can work wherever he likes <.>so well i don't know <{><[>you see <[>at least it's closer than hamilton no it's not <{><[>but <[>oh isn't it <{><[>oh <[>no but um the thing is that they WANT him there for life <{1><[1>they've basically told him that <{2><[2>there's a partner i KNOW i just about died there's a partner who's <.>le who wants to leave in six years <{3><[3>and he wants somebody to take his place in the <{4><[4>partnership and in six years craig will be twenty eight <[1>mm <[2>well that's no good <[3>mhm <[4>right mm and they want him <{><[>to stay for life <[><.>that oh god that is such an excellent opportunity <{><[>it's such a shame that it's in opotiki <[>i know even if it was any other small town you <{1><[1>know you don't feel so bad about moving to a new <&>10:00 district where you've got no history there and <{2><[2>no ties and noone's got any impressions of you <{3><[3>and you can just start again <{4><[4>um but i just don't know if i could handle it the ONLY plus is that my family's there and <{5><[5>HIS family's there <[1>yeah <[2>yeah <[3>yeah <[4>mm <[5>yeah yeah but apart from that laughs nothing if it came up to the decision of whether to take the job or whether to like keep going out with you what do you think he'd do i think he'd <.>come he'd stay with me <.>i'd <{><[><.>i'd oh i don't know i think he would <[>yeah? oh yeah he probably would too I would yeah but it's very tempting for <{1><[1>him i KNOW that i can SEE him <.>clicking it's all clicking over his mind the <{2><[2>worry <.>ab <.>he's the thing is with craig <.>he's he's <.>w a worrier <[1>mm <[2>yeah mm and he WORRIES about being secure and he worries about having debt and <.>he you know whereas I just think money's <.>just yeah i don't <{><[>care <[>money's just a <.>u thing that i use to get by in the world and <.>it'll you know it'll always be there if <.>i you know i'll always be able to get it if i want it because <&>11:00 i'm resourceful because i reckon i can make my own way and I use money and money doesn't control me yeah and um i don't worry <{1><[1>about debt like <{2><[2>you <[1>yeah <[2>i suppose being an accountant eh yeah <{><[>i suppose but <.>in <.>min he's <.>saying he's saying um tut oh but you know i've got ten thousand dollars debt from student loan already you know when am i going to pay it back and i'm thinking for crying out loud you're going to be in debt for the rest of your life what do you think a mortgage is <[>does it to you yeah exactly voc ten thousand dollars is peanuts and you just don't worry about it eh no yeah i just wouldn't worry about it tut inhales but um i <.>d well i didn't say i wouldn't go back there i said <&>11:38 <&>microphone falls down <&>12:01 so when you said that um <,> that <,> darren was going to go back <.>to is that his home town <.>where no no um he's from lower hutt mm but um last summer he worked up in waiuku at the steel mill <{><[>which is a REAL hick town eh god um and i think he quite liked it and now he's got through to the last round of interviews for um a proper job at the steel mill and it pays really well and he <.>hasn't <.>he like he's failed quite a few courses so it would be a really good job for him but voc you know he's going to go and live in waiuku which is really stink <[>oh all right so are you guys still kind of involved <{><[>or <[>oh no um but if he was living in wellington we probably would be <{><[>like um i mean we still really like each other and stuff but um yeah one of the main things why we're not still going out is because he wants to go and live in a little small town and i kind of want to live in a city and go overseas and do lots <.>more <[>right yeah <&>13:00 you know different things yeah so if our lives aren't going in the same direction there's not really much point going out that's like me and craig <.>our we've got different horizons yeah like he's looking really longterm ahead <{><[>thinking well i would LIKE to travel but but when i've <.>got when i've established the career and have got the <.>security financial security to go <[>yeah yeah and um and i'm thinking i want to go and just experience <,> life <{1><[1>there and just see how i'd cope on it's <{2><[2>like an experiment to see how i'd <.>cope <[1>yeah <[2>yeah yeah <{><[>i think it's more <[>er with uncertainty yeah i think it's more important to go and have fun and do awesome things while we're young and while we can <{><[>rather than you know settling and never getting the opportunity to do those sort of things again <[>mm tut yeah <{1><[1><.>a <.>ha he just <.>worry he worries that you know he'll get <{2><[2>there <[1>word <[2>yeah and he won't be able to get a job <.>or and i just said well <{><[>i'll just <[>well too bad what happens if he doesn't get a really really good job <{1><[1>he'll get a decent job and i'm sure he'll do fine even if he DID <{2><[2>take a few years off <[1>mm <&>14:00 <[2>yeah i know but yeah tut <.>s you can't change other <.>people's yeah way of looking at things <.>so mhm it's up to him that's for real mm yeah <,> do you think you'll get married i don't <{><[>know i THINK i could <.>m handle it more and more <,> like every time we spend a decent amount of time together i think i'm so happy <[>laughs yeah but um we have fundamental <.>p difficulties just that like um he <.>doesn't he doesn't talk things though as much as i would prefer <{1><[1>and um <,,> and i probably goof around a bit <{2><[2>more than he does sort of <{3><[3>i don't know <,,> just little things that probably <&>15:00 would make quite a difference <{4><[4>would add up <[1>mm <[2>laughs <[3>yeah <[4>yeah? but i suppose if you have one person who's <.>quite like worries and worries about the future and likes to make the future secure and you have one person who's more FUN then <{1><[1>um or you know into other things um it could be quite a good balance like you'd get him to do things he wouldn't usually do but then he'd kind of give you some <{2><[2>security or whatever as well <[1>mm <[2>yeah we are balanced in that i worry about little things whereas he worries <{><[>about big things <[>yeah right i DON'T worry about big things i <.>d i DO get stressed every now and then about something that's probably quite trivial <{><[>that's just my nature i like <.>t things to be DONE <[>yeah yeah but um <.>h and those kind of things he <.>doesn't doesn't he is lax he just goes with the flow but um like i worry more about study and work and getting <.>thing good marks and you know than he does he sort of thinks oh i'll just think about one thing at a time oh right and works towards one thing and then <.>not onto the next whereas i'd probably <&>16:00 plan study and that more but um and then we're good at different things yeah? like um he's really good with um directions and stuff like that whereas <.>i'm i'm <.>more i'm hopeless with directions i NEVER know where i am yeah? <.>or or have a good idea of spatial kind of concerns i'm hopeless like that whereas the commonSENSE things um problem solving maybe i'm better <&>16:30
