they it was really awful <{1><[1>i'd hate to work for an organisation like that <{2><[2>cos they had this promo video thing <[1><.>what <[2>why <.>wh yeah <{><[><.>like <[>REALLY stupid they had all this um all these trumpet fanfares in the background and it was SO dramatic and they were racist and sexist and vivisectionists <.>and you name it they <{><[>were it yeah came across as really bad eh <[>REALLY? god mm just the pictures they showed of people you know doing things in the company and saying things about the company they had um most of <&>3:00 the people were white of course they had a <.>few few white male managers harping on about um how wonderful the company was and they put their position and their name underneath them on the screen and they had um about three or four <.>nonwhite there were a couple of asians and a couple of um tut i think they were black americans in their overseas um market thing mhm and um they didn't bother putting their names or their positions up and they were obviously office workers <{><[>you know they weren't the factory staff <[>word mm and the white people got their positions and names and <.>the the others didn't and just little things like that it was full of it <{><[>you know yeah <[>oh my god it's like um i went <.>to after i'd word been to westpac um b n z and um what are <.>th department of labour department of labour was all right it didn't have a video or anything but um they were going on equal opportunities and all that <.>sh so it sounds quite good <{1><[1>so i put my c v in for there <{2><[2>i've done a c v on <.>a on the laser printer and <[1>oh yeah <[2>mm oh good <{><[>on you yeah i was talking to vicky who had just been talking to <&>4:00 you and said that you'd done a flash c v and it was really big and impressive <[>put it in yeah except it had a um spelling mistake on it which isn't very impressive but never mind <{><[>er and then i went to westpac and GOD that was boring and b n z was even worse westpac <.>s both of them had <.>really had the promo video and they were just so STUPID <[>word yeah <.>o <.>i <.>there <.>were they had NO black people b n z had NO black people <{1><[1>NONE AT ALL well <.>not not necessarily BLACK people <{2><[2>but you <.>know you know what i mean <[1>black laughs <[2>laughs yeah i know what you <{><[>mean it's so funny <[>they had no asians or <{1><[1>ANYTHING and um and they were doing <.>things oh i think challenge you <.>i the stupid woman who was doing the um b n z <.>thing i was getting SO hacked off it was just SO cliche cliche cliche like um she did about a half hour opening speech going on like <.>g just going on things like we are challenging upmarket you know quality service all <{2><[2>THIS and i mean it was absolute rubbish since b n z's nearly <{3><[3>going bust anyway <{4><[4>and um and i went to <.>her afterwards and said um oh how <.>much you know <&>5:00 <.>wh how many <.>p positions are there for graduates and she said um oh there's not um we haven't really you know thought of um thought about any specific numbers but we're going to be very selective and then i said oh okay <{5><[5>um <[1>mm <[2>mm <[3>mm <[4>laughs <[5>in other words one out of the three hundred <{><[>or so of us laughs <[>yeah laughs and then i said <{1><[1><.>wh what's the salary and she goes oh it will be market competitive which is <.>bl <{2><[2>i mean why <.>not yeah i mean but westpac was quite good cos westpac said one degree twenty seven thousand two degrees twenty eight five hundred masters thirty one you know? <{3><[3><.>they they just put it right out but <.>it <.>i i'm going to put my c v in <.>for um westpac but you have to submit a written piece of material that you've had um marked at varsity <[1>clears throat <[2>it's a load of garbage i mean say it how it is <[3>yeah oh wow <{><[>oh yeah <[>so i had to go searching cos i've chucked everything <{><[>out i mean <.>it's <[>laughs have to type it all up laughs make it look flash <{1><[1>and photocopy all the comments onto the typed script <{2><[2>laughs <[1>yeah <[2>well here's me thinking um here's word <&>6:00 here's me thinking oh god <{><[>cos um <.>a <.>th i've <.>got <.>w you have to have one that shows um analytical skills and stuff like that <[>clears throat what about your <.>marketing one of your ski report thingies you did one of them eh yeah but it <.>wa it <.>wasn't you know i didn't get a BRILLIANT mark for it <{1><[1>i want to <.>get cos i've got that one from communications that i got nineteen out of twenty and it said EXCELLENT voc you know all that sort of <{2><[2>thing on it and i thought oh they'd be <{3><[3><.>pr <[1>mm <[2>mm <[3>but is it relevant <{><[>laughs <[>yeah exactly <.>it no it doesn't have to be relevant <{1><[1>you know it can be history or something she just wants to show that you've thought it through but it doesn't really show much at all um i don't know i don't know what i'm going to do and you have to put in two written references stuff like that <{2><[2>word <[1>oh yeah <[2>oh yeah well you may as well apply i mean it doesn't hurt to apply to heaps and heaps of things cos <.>if if they do happen to offer your job then you can take your pick laughs yeah word um and i'm gonna go for um a n z this friday mhm um <{><[>i <.>heard <[>i haven't been to any of the bank ones <{><[>struck me as a bit frightening <[>mm well basically i'm only going to THEM because everything else needs honours or accountancy people yeah i mean i haven't got that so i'm just going to <&>7:00 go for el general laughs mm and um i'm going to go to um telecom <,> <{1><[1>word might go to pepsi but um doubt it i haven't been going to varsity actually i meant to <.>a um i'm looking for a job so let's all flag varsity <{2><[2>laughs <[1>oh yeah <[2>laughs i've been off word it's really bad i'm just so unenthused about getting a job and using my b c a you <{1><[1>know cos <.>if oh it's all so boring <{2><[2>i just want to laughs <[1>mm <[2>oh no i don't want <.>to yeah i want to keep studying linguistics for the rest of my life mm <{><[>laughs <[>well you could do honours or something OH i just <.>remembered i forgot i was being taped and listened to by a linguist never mind oh are they listening <{><[>to us <[>how was that for a wee plug <{><[>laughs no not <.>at yeah never mind <[>oh oh and i work dreadfully hard <{1><[1>for linguistics because i find it so interesting and the professors are <{2><[2><.>really <[1>laughs <[2>oh but seriously <.>no now <{1><[1>laughs like that's why i started doing my b a because i found b c a so boring and i don't want <{2><[2>a commerce job you know <[1>no um <[2>well this is <.>ME this <.>is mm this is <&>8:00 me thinking <{><[>word my not a manager or something like that i mean <.>that's i mean i've decided basically i want to <.>w don't want to work but <{><[>hey never mind <[>laughs i know what you mean though they think if you get good marks <.>you you're the right sort of material but i'm not i got good marks but there's no WAY i'm that sort of person that could fit in to the sort of you know <{1><[1>the high flying young yuppies <{2><[2>successful sort of hard working mega money oriented sort of person <{3><[3>cos i'm not like that <[1>mm <[2>mm very competitive yeah <[3>mm well <.>that's this is not <{1><[1>me either because i think the grad programme is performance based and all <{2><[2>this sort of thing you know i'm thinking god in two years i'm going to be leaving definitely <.>t too bad if i've got no money i'll borrow money i want to leave in exactly two years time and go overseas to study singing <{3><[3>but i <.>don't i don't really WANT to be in a <&>9:00 highly competitive you know <{4><[4>word but
