getting a bit worried i didn't think you were going to <.>w ring i thought oh i'd be having to go down there on my own and ski on my own <{><[>laughs you homo and a half <[>oh mate word eh? i says you homo and a half <{><[>laughs word <[>laughs hey so you got all the good snow eh? mate <{1><[1>word mate best snow since nineteen <{2><[2>sixty eight BEAUTIFUL fucking snow <[1>fucking excellent eh <[2>laughs yeah it's fucking good eh? <&>1:00 i reckon <.>i i went up to <.>a <.>a um ohakune <.>and and er <.>on on sunday night yep and we stayed there monday tuesday wednesday NO skiing at all mate cos it just wouldn't stop snowing really? yeah <.>and and <.>they've it's um desert road's closed again and it's snowing up there now and it's more snow tonight fuck and there's just MEGA eh mega snow <{><[>word <[>laughs yeah if it stops you'd be all right though eh? yeah yeah oh yeah it's frustrating when there's too much though eh? yeah so <.>wh what's it like down there at the moment is it just really good yeah we um skied coronet peak yesterday cos the remarkables were closed <{><[>because the road was <.>like laughs the <.>r the road was um the road was closed yesterday cos it's sort of like the turoa road <[>fucking yuppie laughs yeah really bloody precipitous <{1><[1>you know really big cliffs hanging off the edges <{2><[2>word so it was <.>all like it's like really LONG i was really surprised takes you about nearly an hour to get up from the bottom of the mountain <{3><[3>it's really high and the view is just amazing <{4><[4>and that's in the bus so you know that's for somebody else <[1>yeah yeah <[2><.>y oh yeah <[3>yeah? shit yeah <[4>yeah? yeah yeah <&>2:00 get on the bus like fucking wallies <{><[>voc take me word so we thought oh we'll take the car because we've got chains and everything with it <[>laughs <.>got oh good one have you fitted them yet to it no i'll just <.>f fit them on the way up oh yeah i mean there <.>will there WAS <.>this what would you say the first one was nineteen seventy seven there was snow or something <.>i in the village like when we got here yeah you needed like CHAINS to drive around town <{><[>it was ridiculous we got to <.>twizel we came into christchurch <[>laughs yeah and er we decided yeah here's the car chains are in the boot see you later off we go do do <{><[>do do do drove about three hundred yards and got a two hundred dollar speeding ticket <[>laughs oh <{><[>what <[><.>a after that it after that it was all right mega going the other way i didn't realise they had those sort <.>of dork radar <.>y er yeah whatever they are <{><[>yeah with the windscreen yeah <[>yeah yeah no so he gives a ticket see you later i'm not going to be upset <{1><[1>tee hee have a good day ha ha ha that'll be brilliant basically he said what you do about paying it is entirely up to you <{2><[2>so in other words don't pay it if you're going to australia <[1>laughs <[2>right laughs don't expect <.>to you know expect to get <&>3:00 arrested when you come back if you don't <{1><[1>pay it you want to see it you know that sort of thing fuck it i don't know <{2><[2>anyway i got um <,> got to <.>gerald geraldine is it <[1>laughs <[2>yeah yeah you know where that is no oh well it's a bit of a way anyway it's about like half way between christchurch and er <,> and queenstown and it started snowing <{1><[1>word oh fuck snow this is fun <{2><[2>you know like when you er at night with the headlights on <[1>oh is that right <[2>laughs yeah and you've got the headlights on dim and you turn them on high and then we were jokingly saying oh it's like bloody you know remember the star wars yeah in hyperspace you turn the lights on and it went like that <{1><[1>it went <.>all fucking snow everywhere like you can see all these big <,> stripes in hyperspace yeah ah right word then it got so bad that it was like hyperspace on LOW beam <{2><[2>and all you can see is fucking hyperspace <{3><[3>and we had that for forty ks and then everywhere it was <.>bloody it was just bull shit you know drive right down <.>really it's like trying to get to twizel you know there was like eight inches of snow on the ground <[1>laughs yeah yeah laughs <[2>laughs sniffs <[3>laughs jesus still haven't got <.>ch we got out at one stage and said oh isn't this pretty and we stopped <{1><[1><.>and and the road you know and just like falling the snow's just falling and it was <{2><[2>really pretty and we're going ha ha ha <{3><[3>and we got out and nearly fell on our arses word between the word and doing a hundred ks or more without realising it no jack no nothing and we got back in the car and it barely moved and like sitting there wheel spinning we thought oh fuck <{4><[4>now we're stranded in the middle of nowhere like laughs drove off anyway and we got to twizel and there's like eight or ten inches whatever of snow we stopped <.>in in the police station and say well you know can we go on what's the story we can't SEE you know can we drive in this or what <[1>laughs <&>4:00 <[2>yeah <[3>laughs <[4>laughs laughs and he said well if you can't get through to lindis pass and that's the only problem you know if you go between here and um word omarama or something i think it was called omarama yeah between twizel and omarama is about thirty or forty ks or something yeah and then there's the lindis pass and he said and he RUNG ahead with his police radio and all this bullshit you know and they said oh it's a bit breezy up there oh voc and all this sort of stuff and we said we don't want to stay in fucking twizel kind of thing what do we want to do here so anyway he finally said yeah go and <&>5:00 give it a go and see if you can get um through the next bit and if you can then you know hopefully they'll plough the path but if you can't you'll have to come back and all this sort of stuff you know oh right and it was pissing with snow it was really ridiculous so anyway we got <{><[>there i was driving the next bit at about forty ks for about half an hour <[>laughs yeah both of us peering out the <{><[>windscreen word laughs we just looked at the windscreen going word and everything cos i was getting a sore back word we couldn't go forward we <.>couldn't if we'd turned around we would have got stuck in the middle of the road and word drive to omarama word oh god word so anyway we got there and <.>then then we figured oh well <.>w we're here now we word and we get to the lindis pass and i don't know <.>well well by then it was about eleven thirty at night by the time we got to there word lindis pass from queenstown <[>laughs yeah and then we come up and the snow plough's coming it's the middle of nowhere PITCH fucking black you know yeah and there's SNOW everywhere snow all over the <&>6:00 mountains <{1><[1>word everything but the snow is all over the side of the road and we're going oh look there's a lot of snow isn't there word STOPPED snowing so we get there and then a snow plough appears like out of the gloom oh thank fuck for that <{2><[2>that's word down here word snow plough man coming along ploughing the little word looks like a nice guy let's slow down and talk to the snow plough man he's all bundled up in his thing he doesn't even bother to slow down just <{3><[3><&>makes sound like a snow plough word we're trying to drive up the hill and his wheels spinning like he's ploughed all the fucking snow off word tracking and there's six inches of ice on the road and we were wheel spinning up the hill and we're going thinking this fucking snow plough man didn't even say hello now he's word couldn't get up the hill so we got half way up the hill and put the chains on <[1>laughs <[2>laughs <[3>laughs yeah at eleven thirty at night you know this is the bloody middle of fucking nowhere <{><[>word had the snow plough man three hundred yards word sitting there doing fuck all oh waiting <.>for he's waiting for us to get out of it before he comes back in case we needed help that bastard i'll never talk to them again anyway we did that and so we <.>got and we'd gone through and it was real touch and go so there was basically just to make a short story long there was lots and lots of snow <[>laughs <&>7:00 laughs fucking hell you come over from aussie <{1><[1><.>a and you're <.>there you're there for five minutes <.>to to do a bit of skiing a bit of skiing and it's voc pissing down snow on you <{2><[2>laughs <[1>yeah <[2>yeah i never saw so damned much sitting in our new front yard with our word and everything i wonder how paul's going ah twenty one degrees boy this is winter time it's word getting sunburned kind of thing and then we drive into a fucking SNOW storm bloody <{><[>just <.>a <.>bloody <[>oh man that sounds good bit of an experience laughs and then we skied at coronet peak and that <.>was that was so i did the test along the greens and then i went up to <.>the up to the word and sort of fell all the way down there <&>8:00 <{><[><.>and it was all right <[>laughs and <.>how how's it coming along <.>bo <.>y both of you oh mate i'm a fucking expert now <{><[>they wanted to give me a ski instructor <,,> sarah's <.>got sarah's got really good <[>laughs oh fuck is that right yeah she's really good now how <.>many <{><[>how <.>many how many day's skiing have you done <[>on day two she's done three is it? she's done three days yeah three? so yeah <{1><[1>i'm gonna get a private lesson today yeah <{2><[2>going yupping all the way yup yup yup <[1><.>sh <[2>yeah yeah yeah and what <.>a what are <.>you you managing <.>to you're not snow ploughing no more and that ME? yeah mate snow plough? <{><[>word snow plough? sarah isn't snow ploughing anymore <[>laughs oh is that right yeah no she's word now i told you we're fucking ace mate <{><[>word word <[>laughs oh good one we get some powder today are <.>you you laughs some powder <{><[>woo laughs <[>yeah cool man yeah word <&>9:00 word powder fucking word oh fuck is <.>it is it good snow to ski on <.>but better than turoa was that last time it <.>was you know the really nice bits yep <.>where where it sort of <.>just just before the word i think it's nice with sort of soft snow on the surface <.>that that made you word brakes and that yeah and you're going voc voc round corners yeah voc like that basically except for the powder runs and they're just like when you are early enough it's just clean fresh powder i don't know if you ski that i can't ski it cos it's like word yeah no it's hard to ski that eh you <.>j just disappear into it <{><[>so like i was doing all the blue runs except <.>for except for <.>the for the two that <.>had were covered in powder <[>yeah oh right and they were getting scraped off a bit i mean <.>with for your standard <.>you'd you'd ski those as well yeah but coronet peak was quite challenging and the remarkables today was um much better for um for <.>the much better intermediate most of it's intermediate <{1><[1>and most of the black runs were actually <{2><[2>blue do you ski black runs or blue <[1>right <[2>voc either either <&>pronounced i ther ai ther yeah you'd ski black as well <{><[>do you most of the black here seems to be powder runs <[>yeah yeah right so if you don't like powder then there's not <&>10:00 MUCH though at <.>the at the remarkables so you have to sort of move around the ski fields yeah doesn't bother me <.>a anywhere will do me be good yeah i reckon if <.>you because we know a little bit <.>about we've done coronet peak and we've done the remarkables so hopefully we'll see word <{><[>word <[>fucking ski bunnies eh <{><[>laughs <[>yeah it's in the air sort of word cos they're <.>not not far apart like the <.>r you just <{><[>basically say i want to go to coronet peak the bus comes down and picks you up and you go to coronet peak <[><.>but oh yeah so what if i um <.>w we just go straight from when you pick us up sort of thing yeah exactly grouse we'll have all your gear ready we'll pick you up um it's on the way to the remarkables <{><[>so hopefully it's open if they get more snow tonight the road's really treacherous so usually if they get more snow the next day it's closed <&>10:42 <[>yep
