was my child and she rang here oh i panicked i just dropped the phone down RAN down the road inhales gee by the time i got down <&>9:00 there they'd already taken him away hell mm the lady of the car that <,> hit him yeah she took him to the doctor's oh that was good mm not like some of them <{><[>eh drive off <[>and yeah and by the time i got to the doctor's they'd had him up in kenepuru hospital down from taranaki that voc that week <,> tut and she was going back on the saturday so i said to her oh we'll go down pick my meat up and tut we'll just have ONE and then we'll come straight <{4><[4>home laughs <[1>mm <,> mm <[2>mm <[3>mm <[4>exhales and? inhales and we <{><[>got down there i got my meat all right and i chucked it in back of the car <,,> tut and then um <,> we had one pint <[>laughs laughs then next minute you know how you bang into people down there well they came over and they threw money on the table because they hadn't seen my sister for years inhales relations and that and they inhales <,> they told us to fill up another one and i said oh just one more then inhales well after that <&>11:00 one <,> someone else brought <&>pronounced bought another pint over each for us and god and i had the guitar in the back of <{1><[1>the car and next minute i was walking out to get it laughs <{2><[2>laughs yeah and then we were away inhales <,> gee by the time i away <[1>mm <[2>yeah shit and he said to me oh how much have you <&>12:00 had to <.>dr oh told me about the taillights first i had to get out the car and go and have a look i suppose you weaved your so i had to go in their car in the cop car and go down and get a breather oh he did it straight away and he said i was over the limit it was positive so i had to go with him tut i was in the shit what you weren't missing <{><[>you didn't know what you were missing eh didn't worry you <[>no nah or is it was there a lot of people in the community there were there a lot of little houses all dotted together or yeah two up the top ours yeah and then my sister built one over there we <.>u and then my brother built another one next to it and we use you know cos we were the only maoris at our school we only had about er <{><[>we only had two classrooms and um <,> oh no there was <,,> quite a few um oh just our family really and another family of maoris at this school and i think there was only about <,> they only had primers up to <.>st <,> primers in one room standards in the other room <,,> yeah <[>oh <&>20:00 choice were the teachers maori or pakeha pakeha and <,> pakehas lived past our place and we used to tell them that that was our new house so <{1><[1>my brother's house and when they <.>w we used to hide at the back of <{2><[2>my brother's house and when they've all gone past still or no no in that <{><[>other place yeah <[>it's the other place oh <{><[>right <[>but then when the health inspectors and that used to come around eh we didn't use to turn our power on our lights on <{><[>and that cos at that place we were <.>suppo we were living in supposed to be condemned and we used to have the health inspector round you know and <[>oh right shit yeah lot of times yeah word give us somewhere else i mean <{1><[1>oh you know it's all very well for them to <{2><[2>yeah what a dag <{3><[3>was it <[1>true mm <[2>mm <[3>and um my sisters and that they tell me a lot too because you know they <&>22:00 were there <.>be you know before i was born they said that cos my father used to cos we owned quite a bit of land eh and he used to have one paddock just full of vegetables <{><[>and all sorts corn and all that he use to plant and then they <.>used he used to get all my sisters and that to pick all the and dig it all up all the vegetables and that and they
