<&>Wellington Corpus of Spoken New Zealand English Version One <&>Copyright 1998 School of Linguistics & Applied Language Studies <&>Victoria University of Wellington <&>side two <&>23:46 good evening in a word sunday has been cold we had a frosty morning a cold southerly all day and some very cool favourite towns ten degrees in the bay cities we had ten degrees in wellington nine in masterton twelve for new <&>24:00 plymouth down on the west coast this was fine day number four hokitika reached eleven degrees but in the east it was rather cold with eight degrees in kaikoura and a high of only seven for christchurch onto our sky check and today we had more sunshine over the western skies there was more shower cloud moving up the east coast but a flat cloud harmless cloud over the tasman sea and there's nothing nasty on the way so the picture remains unchanged that big high will still be stationed out there tomorrow quite an intense one too with a central pressure of around a thousand forty hectapascals that will keep the sunshine rolling into the west that southerly breeze will keep that cloud moving up the east coast and the outcome is all fairly predictable it'll be frosty tonight with more showers tomorrow morning between gisborne and wellington a few also getting into the high country sunshine though will bathe the west and the north and of course that southerly breeze will still be operating the only changes in the afternoon showers will ease back south of the mahia peninsula and it will stay cool the range of temperatures for the north island is nine to <&>25:00 fifteen heading south the scenario is much the same keep warm tonight because a frost is on the way but a beautiful clear morning follows for most parts of the island except on the eastern and southern coastal fringes where once again that southerly breeze will bring in a few showers but the afternoon is looking great eastern areas will clear up that southerly will ease back but the south coast will still catch a few of those remaining showers temperatures stay down the range in the south is eight to thirteen time to check monday and the main centres auckland fine and cool with a southerly breeze and a high of fourteen same conditions for hamilton frosty and clear then up to thirteen those showers finally retreat from the bay cities the sunshine returned your high twelve wellington also clears up the southerly fades out but it stays rather cold christchurch a little damp early on then fine and cold with a high of nine showers and southerly both clear dunedin too but again it'll be nippy with no more than eight tut further into the week north island is looking quite reasonable er from tuesday onwards mostly fine tuesday <&>26:00 wednesday but towards the end of the week there'll be a few showers in the west but in the south not quite so bright showers in the east on tuesday the south wednesday thursday but things should come right by friday and that's goodnight from me <&>26:08
