  <WSC#DPF014:0005:MS>
      so um yeah she's evidently in the north island <,> <O>tut</O>

  <WSC#DPF014:0010:MS>
      she's in <.>u</.> up really north um just out of auckland <,>
      titirangi <,>

  <WSC#DPF014:0015:MS>
      actually that's where anja <{><[>was</[>

  <WSC#DPF014:0020:DY>
      <[>that's</[></{> where anya lives <,> <{><[>yeah</[>

  <WSC#DPF014:0025:MS>
      <[>yeah</[></{> <,> <O>tut</O> so um her daughter <.>she</.> she
      gave me her daughter's name

  <WSC#DPF014:0030:MS>
      there's only one daughter left down here now

  <WSC#DPF014:0035:DY>
      mm

  <WSC#DPF014:0040:MS>
      <O>tut</O> um so she said well i could ring her and get her <O>voc</O>
      and get her new address

  <WSC#DPF014:0045:MS>
      she's evidently just shifted recently

  <WSC#DPF014:0050:DY>
      yeah

  <WSC#DPF014:0055:MS>
      um so and she said unless you want to talk to her so i thought
      oh well that's a <?>bit of news</?> so i rang her daughter

  <WSC#DPF014:0060:DY>
      yeah

  <WSC#DPF014:0065:MS>
      and um she's going up there for about a month but she said her
      mother's second husband um sometimes comes down to wellington
      and sometimes she comes with him

  <WSC#DPF014:0070:DY>
      oh right

  <WSC#DPF014:0075:DY>
      that'd be good

  <WSC#DPF014:0080:MS>
      yeah <{><[>so i thought <O>voc</O></[>

  <WSC#DPF014:0085:DY>
      <[>and so did she know</[></{> who you were

  <WSC#DPF014:0090:MS>
      pardon

  <WSC#DPF014:0095:DY>
      did she know who you <{><[>were the daughter</[>

  <WSC#DPF014:0100:MS>
      <[>oh no i <O>clears throat</O></[></{> actually i've got <.>a</.>
      her name was kelly

  <WSC#DPF014:0105:MS>
      i've got <&>1:00</&> a VAGUE feeling that i heard about her
      birth but you know by that time we really weren't in touch very
      much

  <WSC#DPF014:0110:DY>
      yeah

  <WSC#DPF014:0115:MS>
      um but it sounds as though there were four in the family

  <WSC#DPF014:0120:DY>
      right

  <WSC#DPF014:0125:MS>
      and um most of them have ended up going up north sort of round
      about there <O>tut</O> so um yeah so now i've gone this far
      trying to contact her i will <{1><[1>give her</[1> <.>a</.> i
      will write her a note and <{2><[2><unclear>word</unclear></[2>

  <WSC#DPF014:0130:DY>
      <[1>yeah</[1></{1>

  <WSC#DPF014:0135:DY>
      <[2>so you've got</[2></{2> her address now

  <WSC#DPF014:0140:MS>
      yeah <.>a</.> actually i wrote it in your phonebook so i'll have
      to cut that edge of the page off

  <WSC#DPF014:0145:MS>
      i'm terribly <{><[><laughs>sorry</laughs></[> but you know i

  <WSC#DPF014:0150:MS>
      <O>clears throat</O> had to write it down quickly

  <WSC#DPF014:0155:DY>
      <[>oh that's all right</[></{>

  <WSC#DPF014:0160:DY>
      yeah

  <WSC#DPF014:0165:MS>
      yeah so that was yeah that was interesting

  <WSC#DPF014:0170:MS>
      it sort of gets you thinking a bit doesn't it and OH and
      actually a lot of things happened in the short conversation we
      had

  <WSC#DPF014:0175:MS>
      jenny had a younger sister called karen

  <WSC#DPF014:0180:DY>
      mm

  <WSC#DPF014:0185:MS>
      <O>tut</O> and she died when she was twenty eight

  <WSC#DPF014:0190:DY>
      did she

  <WSC#DPF014:0195:MS>
      she left two children who are also living in wellington <,> so
      <latch>

  <WSC#DPF014:0200:DY>
      so did you know karen

  <WSC#DPF014:0205:MS>
      yeah <,> and so um <O>voc</O> yeah she was a couple of years
      younger than jenny <.>but</.> <&>2:00</&>

  <WSC#DPF014:0210:DY>
      was jenny the one that was brethren

  <WSC#DPF014:0215:MS>
      pardon

  <WSC#DPF014:0220:DY>
      was jenny the one that was brethren that you used to go out with
      her family all the time <,>

  <WSC#DPF014:0225:MS>
      no no no that was on the other corner <O>laughs</O>

  <WSC#DPF014:0230:DY>
      oh

  <WSC#DPF014:0235:MS>
      yeah no i actually stayed with them a couple of times <.>when</.>
      i think it might've <.>been</.> my impression was that it was
      when <,> um things were getting a bit <,> bad with mum and dad
      and they decided that they'd have a holiday on their own

  <WSC#DPF014:0240:DY>
      yeah

  <WSC#DPF014:0245:MS>
      so one year they went up north on their own and then <.>the</.>
      <O>inhales</O> <.>they</.> and sleeping in the van and
      everything and then the next year they went round down south and
      i stayed with jenny

  <WSC#DPF014:0250:DY>
      mm <latch>

  <WSC#DPF014:0255:MS>
      and i <.>was</.> really wasn't very happy about it cos i didn't
      like her father

  <WSC#DPF014:0260:MS>
      i was scared of him <,> and yeah i was always yeah it was and
      while we were at the table he'd um <,,> <O>tut</O> <.>i</.> cos
      i was trying very hard cos i was scared of them <laughs>him</laughs>
      i used to eat <.>very</.> try and eat um neatly and everything
      you <{><[>know</[> and be on my best behaviour and <,,> he i
      caught him once looking at um jenny's mother and sort of like
      and then he saw me looking and said something about come on
      lizzie eat up or something cos i was taking too long

  <WSC#DPF014:0265:DY>
      <[>yeah</[></{> <&>3:00</&>

  <WSC#DPF014:0270:DY>
      yeah

  <WSC#DPF014:0275:MS>
      but it was cos i was nervous <O>laughs</O> <latch>

  <WSC#DPF014:0280:DY>
      yeah

  <WSC#DPF014:0285:MS>
      i remember that <,> mm

  <WSC#DPF014:0290:DY>
      mm

  <WSC#DPF014:0295:MS>
      so um yeah so she died evidently because she had something oh
      she gave <.>her</.> gave it a name but she was waiting for a
      kidney donor

  <WSC#DPF014:0300:DY>
      yeah

  <WSC#DPF014:0305:MS>
      and um while she was waiting she caught pneumonia <{><[>and died</[>

  <WSC#DPF014:0310:DY>
      <[>have you</[></{> got a donor thing on your driver's licence

  <WSC#DPF014:0315:MS>
      a what

  <WSC#DPF014:0320:DY>
      are you a donor on your driver's licence

  <WSC#DPF014:0325:MS>
      no <,>

  <WSC#DPF014:0330:MS>
      they've they've got the colour of my eyes but no <,,>

  <WSC#DPF014:0335:MS>
      i've never felt really nice about that

  <WSC#DPF014:0340:DY>
      no i haven't either

  <WSC#DPF014:0345:DY>
      it's mean eh

  <WSC#DPF014:0350:MS>
      eh

  <WSC#DPF014:0355:DY>
      it's mean eh but i <laughs>haven't</laughs> either <,,>

  <WSC#DPF014:0360:MS>
      yes my brother has but i don't like the thought <{><[>of <.>who</.></[>

  <WSC#DPF014:0365:DY>
      <[>but see</[></{> i don't think i'd even want <.>people's</.>
      other people's bits if i was sick <,,> <&>4:00</&>

  <WSC#DPF014:0370:MS>
      yes i like to feel that i wouldn't <{><[>um</[>

  <WSC#DPF014:0375:DY>
      <[>i mean</[></{> i'm sure i probably would if it came to it

  <WSC#DPF014:0380:MS>
      i know

  <WSC#DPF014:0385:MS>
      it's the same as to whether you'd you'd want to accept help if
      you had cancer or something isn't it

  <WSC#DPF014:0390:DY>
      yeah you know <.>that</.> <latch>

  <WSC#DPF014:0395:MS>
      it's easy to be brave when you're not in the position

  <WSC#DPF014:0400:DY>
      that friend of sammy's had a new

  <WSC#DPF014:0405:MS>
      eh

  <WSC#DPF014:0410:DY>
      that friend of sammy's had a new liver

  <WSC#DPF014:0415:MS>
      what did you say then

  <WSC#DPF014:0420:DY>
      <slowly>that friend of sammy's</slowly>

  <WSC#DPF014:0425:MS>
      oh right

  <WSC#DPF014:0430:DY>
      had a new <?>bit</?> <,,> but i didn't think that was very nice
      either cos i mean he was just about dying <,,> but because his
      parents were exceedingly wealthy and like his father was the
      financial director of <&>name of company</&> they happened to
      have two hundred thousand in cash sitting round home so they
      could pay for him to have it in sydney and otherwise if they
      couldn't've done that like <O>voc</O> privately then he would've
      died

  <WSC#DPF014:0435:MS>
      mm

  <WSC#DPF014:0440:DY>
      and it just doesn't quite seem right to me <&>5:00</&>

  <WSC#DPF014:0445:MS>
      <drawls>no</drawls> so it really ends up with <,> boiling down
      to how much money you've got doesn't it

  <WSC#DPF014:0450:DY>
      <O>clears throat</O> well it does really

  <WSC#DPF014:0455:DY>
      i mean otherwise he would've had to have one of those appeal
      things where they go to the public and he didn't <{1><[1>have</[1>
      time for that cos he was practically dead <{2><[2><?>anyway</?></[2>
      by the time he got to australia <,,>

  <WSC#DPF014:0460:MS>
      <[1>mm</[1></{1>

  <WSC#DPF014:0465:MS>
      <[2>mm</[2></{2>

  <WSC#DPF014:0470:MS>
      yeah so yeah so it sounds as though if <.>she</.> if she wanted
      to look me up um you know we'd have quite a lot to talk about
      wouldn't <{><[>we</[> <O>tut</O>

  <WSC#DPF014:0475:MS>
      but what i'll do is i'll <.>write</.> i'll write a letter to her
      <.>and</.> and i'll kind of <O>tut</O> fill her in on the things
      that we don't know so far <O>tut</O> and um <,,> and then it
      will be sort of up to her as to whether she decides to contact
      me if she's in wellington <latch>

  <WSC#DPF014:0480:DY>
      <[>yeah</[></{>

  <WSC#DPF014:0485:DY>
      yeah so what are you going to do this afternoon

  <WSC#DPF014:0490:MS>
      <O>tut</O> well i'll come into town cos i want to i suddenly
      thought i could go to the p s i s and <,> get some money out of
      that account

  <WSC#DPF014:0495:DY>
      yeah i don't know where that is

  <WSC#DPF014:0500:MS>
      eh

  <WSC#DPF014:0505:DY>
      i don't know where that is <{><[><?>but you can probably</?>
      <unclear>word</unclear> <?>somewhere</?></[>

  <WSC#DPF014:0510:MS>
      <[>no i mean you can look up the phonebook or</[></{> <,> mm
      <&>6:00</&> and things like that so i'll probably come in
      although it's supposed to rain

  <WSC#DPF014:0515:DY>
      yeah

  <WSC#DPF014:0520:DY>
      are you gonna walk in or take <{><[>the car</[>

  <WSC#DPF014:0525:MS>
      <[>yeah i</[></{> was gonna walk in <,>

  <WSC#DPF014:0530:MS>
      i don't like to sound a cowardy custard but i really <laughs>don't
      like the thought of driving your car across that crossing</laughs>

  <WSC#DPF014:0535:DY>
      well don't take it that way

  <WSC#DPF014:0540:DY>
      go down <,> you know the way <{><[><O>voc</O></[>

  <WSC#DPF014:0545:MS>
      <[>where that</[></{> <O>voc</O> where the roadworks are

  <WSC#DPF014:0550:DY>
      yeah go that way yeah

  <WSC#DPF014:0555:MS>
      do you want me to pick you up

  <WSC#DPF014:0560:DY>
      um depends if it's raining or not <O>laughter</O>

  <WSC#DPF014:0565:DY>
      i don't know what time i'll be finishing cos it depends how much
      work we get done

  <WSC#DPF014:0570:MS>
      mm well i don't imagine that i'll be in town for long anyway
      <,,><&>3</&>

  <WSC#DPF014:0575:MS>
      mm <O>clears throat</O> well when <{><[>and er <O>voc</O></[>

  <WSC#DPF014:0580:DY>
      <[>what's the time</[></{> now

  <WSC#DPF014:0585:MS>
      eh?

  <WSC#DPF014:0590:DY>
      <slowly>what is the time now</slowly>

  <WSC#DPF014:0595:MS>
      oh what is the time did you say

  <WSC#DPF014:0600:MS>
      <{><[>i</[> can't hear very well cos i've got two radios going

  <WSC#DPF014:0605:MS>
      just a minute <&>6:47</&> <&>MS takes earplug out and goes away
      for forty two seconds</&> <&>7:29</&>

  <WSC#DPF014:0610:DY>
      <[><?>yeah</?></[></{>

  <WSC#DPF014:0615:MS>
      it's twenty five <drawls><.>to</.></drawls> twenty five past
      eleven

  <WSC#DPF014:0620:DY>
      okay <unclear>word</unclear>

  <WSC#DPF014:0625:MS>
      yes well perhaps if i do anything i'll give you a call <{><[>and
      if you don't</[> answer i'll know you're not there yeah <latch>

  <WSC#DPF014:0630:DY>
      <[>okay i might go up the road</[></{>

  <WSC#DPF014:0635:DY>
      yeah if i don't answer i'll probably be back soon

  <WSC#DPF014:0640:MS>
      mm mm okay

  <WSC#DPF014:0645:DY>
      okay?

  <WSC#DPF014:0650:MS>
      right oh

  <WSC#DPF014:0655:DY>
      bye

  <WSC#DPF014:0660:MS>
      bye <&>7:48</&>
</I>
