Description:

From 1875-1896, The Grange Visitor served as the official newspaper of the Michigan State Grange . This collection spans publication from 1875-1896 across 429 issues. Collection content relates to general news, legislative updates, reports, recipes, advice for homemakers, literary features, obituaries, and advertisements.

Background:

The Grange Visitor collection was digitized with Project Ceres funds allocated by the United States Agriculture Information Network (USAIN) and the Agriculture Network Information Center (AgNIC).
Data Summary

Format:

The Grange Visitor collection consists of 1200 files,  divided as XML metadata records, PDF scans of newspaper issues, and text extracted from PDF scans.
